Avery's First Thanksgiving

We spent today and Grandma Kathy's house. It was a fun day, shared by several family members. Avery was, of course, the entertainment, and she put on quite a show. She is very 'talkative' the last few days, and will 'talk' to you when you're looking at her and engaging her. It is the cutest!

One month old today!

How time flies! Things are going well so far; Avery is still waking quite a bit in the night and still seems to have her days and nights mixed up. I am still recovering from the delivery -- it is quite a bit more painful than I expected!

Avery had her one-month pediatrician visit today and she weighs a whopping 10 lbs. 12 oz.! She is currently 22 1/4 inches long.

Starting a "Blog"

...it's something I've been meaning to do, but as is life with a new baby, I haven't had the time!

The purpose of this blog is more to document the daily changes in my daughter, Avery Jane, than it is to talk about myself, though I'm sure I'll interject pieces of my personality into my writings.

For now I'm going to add details from the daily goings-on, and I'll write longer passages later!

Today's happening was that Avery smiled for the first time at our friend Vickie Ter Keurst. Of course I'm jealous that it wasn't directed at me, but I'm glad she smiled all the same.
