What is the obsession with cats and kitties?

So, add to Avery's new discoveries the sound "Meow." Last night, I watched an "Animal Precinct" special (on Animal Planet) on the rescue of animals left stranded by Hurricane Katrina. At one point, they showed a kitty in a crate being taken away from its water-filled home, and as the camera stopped to focus on this one cat for a moment, it yelled out a "Meow" and Avery promptly responded with "Bouw, bouw, bouw." It was just like that! Amazing :)

Now, today, if I say "Avery, remember the kitty on TV that said 'Meow?'" she'll say "Bouw, bouw, bouw" or even something that resembles more of a "Meow." What a little smartie :)

New things 'round here...

Well, Avery says "Hi" all day long. It's still cute. Soon I am sure it will lose that effect.

She is also saying "MmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmm" when eating. It's pretty funny. I will try to catch that one on video.

She is working on tooth #4 as well. This tooth doesn't seem to be bothering her as much as the others -- yet.

She is cuter and cuter everyday, and the things she does make me laugh harder and harder! I love it!

Baby! Baby! Baby!

I think we can officially call this her first word. She pretty much says it on command. She sees pictures of babies or other children and immediately says "Baby." How do they learn this stuff so fast?

She said "Kitty"!

And I caught it on video!

Tooth #3, WHEW!

I really had thought Avery was going to make it to her first birthday with only two teeth. It appears as though, however, that tooth #3 is coming in now, her top left big tooth. For the last couple of days she's been taking shorter naps and still waking up a few times at night. I swear, this child has been teething since birth! Maybe once this one is broken through the gum she'll sleep a little better. Of course, I always say that and it never happens. She gets 12 hours of sleep a day, total. Meanwhile, other babies get 12 hours at night. In a row. Without waking up and screaming bloody murder.

It's really just unfathomable to me.

First Blood :(

Tonight, when her daddy came into the house from the garage, Avery did what she always does and started this crazed crawl toward him. Only tonight, she somehow did a faceplant as she was crawling and split her lip open. It bled :( Poor baby!
