Another eye-opening moment...

(I know, I know, ad nauseum)

Last night, we were driving home from having dinner with Uncle Tyler, Grandpa Fred, and Auntie Meredith, and we drove past our local Target, which Avery and I frequent all too often.

She was looking out the window of the car and saw the Target sign and said "Remember? Remember?"

So I asked "Remember what?"

She answered "Statue? Remember?"

The day before, we had roamed around Target for an hour because I mistakenly thought her Gymboree class started earlier than it did. We were in the garden section for a long time because Avery was obsessed with the statues -- all kinds of buffs and ladies holding water jugs and even Buddha's heads were everywhere. The rest of the time in the store she kept saying "Statue? Statue?" and wanted to go back to that section.

The idea of "remember" is a little wild to me -- I say that to her all the time, but if you ask her if she remembers something, she usually thinks you're offering it again. Like when Pops asked if she remembered going out and feeding the horse, she thought he was asking if she wanted to and exasperatedly said "Okay! Okay!"
Maybe she is starting to understand "Remember?" Who knows!
