Murphy came to us on December 22, 2001. He was a Christmas present from Jed. He was 6 weeks old. He was a fiesty little guy from the moment we picked him up, though we chose him from his littermates because he seemed to be the most laid back of the three males we looked at. Apparently he was putting on a show for us, because once we got him home, he was a little terror!

Once the biting/chewing stage passed, however, he was much more fun to play with. Now he's all grown up, but he still is fiesty :)

We adopted Winston on June 28th, 2002. We had seen a sign at a local dog park for a "Free to Good Home" chocolate lab. We'd been thinking about getting another dog so that Murphy could have a playmate. The moment we saw Winston's picture, we knew we had to call and meet him. We set up a meeting for Murphy and Winston the next day. They hit it off immediately. We took him home that day. It took some adjusting to get Winston to feel comfortable at his new house, and we quickly realized that he had serious separation anxiety, but once we figured out his personality and what he did and didn't like, everything fell into place. These days, his favorite things to do are to watch for lizards in the backyard and to hang out with his family.
