Master Bath Before any changes were made.. the shower is just plain ick! AND there
is a totally transparent window Here is the sink area within this portion of the bathroom: white tile,
white walls, off white (yellowish actually) To save on the demolition cost, Jed starts to tear out the tile, only
to find that the studs underneath are rotted from We have to have a contractor come in and replace the studs in order to build a new shower. In this pic you can also see the floor we had installed -- initially there was a white/gray marblish looking ceramic tile. We tore that out and replaced it with limestone. The tile guys float the concrete that the mortar will be placed on eventually... The tile starts getting installed... Here is the finished product on the tile, the window is still going to be replaced and we need shower doors! The tile is ceramic because stone is too porous and was too risky for us to put limestone in the shower as well as on the floor. We chose a ceramic tile that matches the limestone very closely, however. If you look at where the division between the shower and floor is, it is hard to tell which is ceramic and which is limestone. Only the floor is limestone, all the rest is the ceramic. And here it is finished. We had a window made that is frosted on the
bottom 3/4 and an clear slider on the top 1/4. The shower doors are clear
glass. Here is the cabinetry in this portion of the bathroom... we changed the light fixture, the hardware on the cabinets, painted the cabinets, and are now just "dealing" with the counter/faucet for a while. It may stay the way it is for a few years. We'll see. The darker cabinetry makes this counter more tolerable, in my opinion :) Here are side-by-sides for a good comparison:
