Just like coffee, I’m thankful for beer!

I’m thankful for coffee!

For Day 12 of “Thirty Days of Thankfulness,” I’m thankful to have friends with gorgeous children :) Just a holiday family shoot, so glad I got some because last year my ‘work’ was less than stellar when I tried to capture these three :)

Thankful for our Veterans! I grew up as a child of a Vietnam Veteran… I know what little gratitude they often receive (or don’t receive any at all). Ainsley is thankful for the ability to be silly ;)

I’m thankful for my little kitty :) He is a fun little addition to the family. He is more like a dog than a cat – runs to greet you at the door, plays fetch, chases the girls, etc. I hadn’t had a cat since college, so it’s fun to have one again :)

I found out yesterday that one of my photos was chosen for the back cover of the book “Laughter” that is being published by Clickinmoms (website | FB fan page). According to their write-up on the book, thousands of photos were submitted, 175 were chosen, one for the front cover and one for the back :) I’ll take the back cover!
Here’s the photo that was submitted :) The girls are going to be so thrilled to see themselves in print!

I’m thankful for sprinkles and whipped cream! I made the girls some smoothies with Greek yogurt and frozen berries. I figured the smoothies themselves were pretty darn healthy, so I added some whipped cream and sprinkles on top just to make them more fun. I got two thumbs up :)

I’m thankful that I have girls :) When I was younger I used to torture my sister by always playing with and braiding her hair. I’m pretty sure she hated every moment of it. Since my girls were born, I have always played with their hair – twirling it and patting them :) They always say I pet them too much, but they love it, secretly… Avery’s habit is twirling her hair and rubbing it on her face. It’s endearing because I think they’re so used to me constantly touching their hair that it helps to soothe them when they need that secure feeling. Or, at least, that’s what I tell myself. Here’s a day when they BOTH let me braid their hair. Avery usually wants nothing done to her hair, so I was thrilled to braid it for her.

I’m thankful for dessert!

I’m so thankful for photography :) I think about it all day long, it’s a sickness… here are photos from Hwy 1 on the stretch between SF and LA. We stopped in Carmel for lunch and window shopping. What a gorgeous place!
