A Day in the Life

On a Saturday a couple of weeks ago, I photographed our day to share on the ClickinMoms Blog – what we did here and there all day long. We started our day snuggling in bed and getting up and moving pretty slowly and ended it hanging out with our neighborhood friends around a little portable firepit that Jared and I like to tote around. It was fun to try to capture little pieces of our day, but I had to hold back from photographing every little thing…

I did this project on a day about 6 years ago, too. Ainsley was a baby, then :) Suffice it to say, I’ve learned a lot about photography since then!

I loved these on CM’s blog, but even more here. :) I’m a sucker for big photos. ;) These are seriously fantastic and I’d love to know how you convert to B&W. ;)

Allison, your pictures are beautiful. The bokeh in that coffee/steam image is INSANE, in a fantastic way. I’ve been taking a long break from the camera since finishing my 2012 daily photo project, but you’ve inspired me to pick it up again—regularly. Thank you.

  3. Wow, seriously wow. I don’t know if I have ever seen a more beautifully done set of “day in the life” photo series. Every shot is gorgeous on its own and makes such a beautiful display!

Allison, your work is so beautiful! I am just amazed at how you turn everyday living and the simple things in life into art. You are very inspiring! I am absolutely “in love” with your processing, both color and BW, and wanted to know if you would share your process as I would love to learn how to process images like this. Do you use presets or actions or thought about selling your own?
